Two and a bit years ago, in a little town called Hobart, two queers were feeling a little down about the whole country having a say on their relationships. The votes were in but the announcement was to come. What else was there to do but to do but party whilst we we waited in...LIMBO. Now we party together each quarter, hosted by The Grand Poobah in Hobart. DJs and performers come together to bring a big, queer dance night our to our LGBTIQA+ community. Whilst it is a party atmosphere, there are also places to sit and chat and of course the renown Grand Poobah pool table, for those wanting something other than a dance floor. Profits from each LIMBO cover the costs of our events (ensuring that the rainbow fun continues to roll) and any left over is proudly donated to Tasmanian LGBTIQA+ charity Working it Out Inc. Over $20,000.00 has been donated from LIMBOs to date. So come, dance, and help the good times keep queering on. The best place to keep track of party dates is on our Facebook page - search LIMBO Party. You can also find us on instagram @limbopartytas.

LIMBO is an event for LGBTIQA+ Tasmanians and their friends. Since the party's inception, the team has worked hard to cultivate a culture of safety and inclusiveness. The aim is, that on LIMBO nights, party attendees feel safe to be their authentic, wonderful selves free from hassle and full of joy. We have worked with the staff and security team at the Grand Poobah, including instigating a training sessions run by the Sexual Abuse Support Service (SASS) with a focus on safe, queer partying. Party goers will be met with queer friendly faces, and anyone feeling apprehensive is encouraged to come early and settle in before the night gets going. We are always interested in feedback from the community in relation to how we can do better and welcome that via email or our Facebook page. We are also happy to be approach on Facebook if any potential LIMBO party goer has concerns about visibility, including the publishing of photos on social media, with the option to work with that person before the images are released.

Some testimonials:
